Restore Private Key

If you have forgotten the password for your private key, it is impossible for you to decrypt your encryped files and emails. However, you can save yourself the trouble if you hold a paper copy of your encrypted private key. You can do this by using the 'Print Private Key' option from the Keygloo Manager.

This section tells you how to retrieve your private key from a paper copy of your encrypted private key.Enter your Keygloo number, password and the numbers on the paper in the same order. Provide a path for the private key file. Click ‘Restore'.

If you also want your profile to be restored, check the ‘Restore my profile also' option, provide your email id, and click ‘Restore'. This action will however restore only your
public key and will not restore your address book or alternate email ids. To restore
your profile, provide the email id that you provided to the Keygloo website during
sign-up.

After you click 'Restore', you will be prompted to provide a password. This password
is used to protect your private key and should be provided everytime you decrypt a
file or email.
